The Wisconsin State Fair runs August 6 to 16, 2026 at State Fair Park in West Allis, just west of downtown Milwaukee. Eleven days of agriculture, carnival rides, nightly Main Stage concerts, contests, and of course the legendary cream puffs draw enormous crowds, especially on weekends and warm evenings.
The Traffic and Parking Problem
State Fair Park sits right off Interstate 94 between Milwaukee and Waukesha, which means the fair brings some of the heaviest local traffic of the summer. Lots fill, the interchange backs up, and a hot afternoon can turn the last leg into a crawl. Then you do it again on the way out, tired and sun-baked.
